Description

The TEXI SOFT textile duct has been designed to deliver very low air velocities below 1 m/s through a porous fabric that provides uniform and progressive air distribution over part or the entire length of the textile duct. This textile air distribution solution is particularly well suited to ventilation, air conditioning, air handling, and HVAC ductwork systems requiring a high level of thermal comfort and precise control of air movement within occupied spaces.

Based on the principle of natural air displacement driven by temperature differences, the TEXI SOFT textile duct distributes air gently and uniformly, gradually filling the room volume without creating uncomfortable draughts for occupants.

Thanks to its induction-free air distribution principle, this textile duct eliminates air movements that could cause discomfort beneath the duct. It is therefore an ideal solution for sensitive environments requiring silent, homogeneous, and precisely controlled air distribution.

TEXI SOFT technology also achieves extremely low residual air velocities (< 0.3 m/s), ensuring excellent air comfort while significantly reducing turbulence within occupied zones. This low-velocity air distribution solution is particularly effective for applications requiring controlled indoor air quality and outstanding temperature uniformity.

Thanks to its porous air distribution technology, the TEXI SOFT textile duct provides:

  • Uniform fresh air distribution
  • Reduced draughts
  • Excellent temperature uniformity
  • Reduced turbulence
  • Improved occupant comfort
  • Silent and progressive air distribution
  • Enhanced indoor air quality
  • Optimized airflow distribution within HVAC ductwork systems

The TEXI SOFT textile duct is particularly well suited to environments requiring precise control of air distribution conditions, including:

  • Cleanrooms and laboratories
  • Controlled-environment areas
  • Food processing industry
  • Ripening and maturation rooms
  • Sensitive industrial production facilities
  • Spray booths
  • Wood industry facilities
  • Commercial buildings requiring homogeneous and comfortable air distribution

This textile air distribution solution is also suitable for applications with high airflow rates of up to 3,000 m³/h/m² while maintaining very low residual air velocities within occupied zones.

Options

  • ELYGAINE transition piece supplied for connection to air handling equipment
  • Professional textile duct cleaning and repair service (consult us)

Operating guidelines

  • Regardless of the cleaning frequency, filtration is essential. A minimum upstream filtration efficiency of ISO ePM1 ≥ 50% is recommended to limit textile duct fouling and preserve long-term air distribution performance. In environments with high particle concentrations, ISO ePM1 ≥ 80% filtration is recommended.

Progressive duct pressurization during system start-up

Textile ducts are sensitive to pressure surges caused by abrupt fan start-up. The use of a frequency inverter on the fan motor supply, or a motorized damper with progressive opening and spring return (see our damper range), is recommended to ensure smooth duct pressurization.

    Regular textile duct maintenance

Cleaning intervals should be established according to the level of duct contamination (upstream filtration efficiency, return air pollution level, etc.). As a minimum guideline:

    • Once per year for polyester textile ducts
    • Once every three years for textile ducts manufactured from technical fabrics
    • More frequently in highly polluted environments

Refer to our maintenance and cleaning instructions for further information.
