Description

The SONIE BS is a standard acoustic splitter designed for ventilation and air handling ductwork. It reduces noise generated by ventilation and air distribution systems.

It is certified for 400°C/2h operation and suitable for air velocities of up to 14 m/s through the airflow passages.

Characteristics

  • Reinforced galvanized steel frame
  • Aerodynamic rounded leading edge
  • Ribbed construction for enhanced mechanical strength
  • Monobloc rock wool infill
  • Density: 40 kg/m³ ±10%
  • Reaction to fire: Class A1
  • 400°C/2h certified for air velocities up to 14 m/s
  • Anti-fibre erosion fiberglass veil
  • Available in 50, 100, 150, 200 and 300 mm thicknesses

Performances

Acoustic performance

  • Tested in an independent laboratory in accordance with EN ISO 7235
  • Excellent attenuation performance across a wide frequency range

Pressure loss

  • The rounded frame profile can reduce pressure losses by up to 30% compared with a straight-edge profile in certain configurations

Mechanical robustness

  • High-strength steel frame ensuring stability, long service life, and proven mechanical performance validated through testing

Fire resistance

  • certified for operation at 400°C for 2 hours with air velocities within the airflow passages of up to 14 m/s, in accordance with the test report

Applications

  • Commercial HVAC systems
  • Air handling units (AHUs)
  • Industrial ductwork systems
  • Plant rooms and technical areas
  • Fire-rated ventilation installations
  • Noise attenuation in ventilation ductwork
