Introducing the BBC+

Introducing the BBC+: the first HVAC acoustic splitter made from 100% recycled steel and 100% recycled glass wool

Combining acoustic performance with a lower environmental footprint is now a reality. With the introduction of the SONIE BBC+, F2A expands its acoustic solutions portfolio with the first HVAC acoustic splitter manufactured from 100% recycled steel and 100% recycled glass wool.

This latest innovation reflects our eco-design strategy and responds to the growing demand for HVAC components that help reduce the environmental impact of buildings without compromising performance.

Supporting the transition to more sustainable HVAC systems

Reducing the carbon footprint of buildings has become a key priority across the HVAC industry. Consulting engineers, contractors and building operators are increasingly seeking solutions that combine technical performance with greater environmental responsibility.

The BBC+ has been developed to meet these expectations.

Its frame is manufactured from 100% recycled steel, while its acoustic core is made from 100% recycled glass wool, significantly reducing the product’s environmental footprint while maintaining the performance expected from a high-quality acoustic splitter.

The same acoustic performance as the BS+

Choosing a more sustainable product should never mean compromising on acoustic performance.

The BBC+ delivers the same acoustic attenuation performance as the SONIE BS+, our benchmark acoustic splitter. Like every product in the SONIE range, its acoustic performance has been independently tested in accordance with NF EN ISO 7235, providing reliable data for the design and sizing of splitter silencers.

“With the BBC+, our objective was straightforward: to develop a lower-carbon acoustic solution without compromising performance. It marks an important milestone in the development of both our SONIE range and our eco-design approach.”

Built for long-term performance

Beyond its sustainable design, the BBC+ incorporates the proven engineering features that have made the SONIE range a trusted solution for HVAC applications:

  • Aerodynamic rounded-edge frame designed to reduce pressure losses.
  • Reinforced steel construction providing excellent mechanical strength.
  • Acoustic core manufactured from 100% recycled glass wool and protected on both sides by an anti-erosion glass veil.
  • Acoustic performance optimized for HVAC ventilation and air distribution systems.

Available in a 200 mm thickness

The BBC+ is initially available in a 200 mm thickness, offering an excellent balance between acoustic efficiency and ease of integration into HVAC installations.

This configuration is suitable for most HVAC ventilation applications.

Meeting the evolving needs of the market

Over the past several years, our customers have increasingly asked about our CSR commitments and the eco-designed solutions we are developing.

With the BBC+, F2A provides a practical response to these evolving expectations by combining:

  • 100% recycled materials.
  • High acoustic performance.
  • The strength and long-term durability expected from an acoustic splitter for HVAC duct systems.

The BBC+ demonstrates F2A’s commitment to helping HVAC professionals deliver more sustainable projects by combining innovation, performance and environmental responsibility.
