A fire breaking out in a tunnel can have disastrous consequences, the smoke propagation speed can sometimes reach 4m/second. The risks of a fire in a confined space are numerous: asphyxia, loss of visibility, explosion, collapse and the rise in temperature.

The ventilation and smoke control system is a key point for people safety in the event of a fire in an urban guided transport tunnel. It is necessary to guarantee air renewal and good thermal conditions, even during normal operation. Its design but also the elaboration of activation scenarios are essential.

F2A shows its expertise through dozens of references in tunnels and metros dampers to perfectly meet the requirements of smoke exhaust network.

The MSD smoke damper (in this case 2700 mm x 2700 mm, operated with Bernard Controls) class 3 400°/2h, designed to withstand high temperatures will be installed on line 15 South as part of the huge Grand Paris Express project, whose three new lines (15, 16, 17) and the extension of line 14 South will double the current metro network in Île-de-France (Paris area).
