Follow-up the installation of our MS-D dampers on lines 16 and 17.
As mentioned in our first episode, the construction of the future lines 16 and 17 Grand Paris Express is progressing and F2A is proud to be fully associated with it under the direction of the FAN joint-venture (Eiffage – Equans). They will respectively serve ten and nine stations.
Today, let’s look back on the installation of MS-D bypass dampers and their role in the smoke exhaust process of a metro!
In normal condition, the bypass dampers are directly open on the outside, also called “natural” ventilation. In case of fire and therefore of smoke exhausting, the MS-D bypass dampers will close, the MS-D shut-off dampers will open to force the air to go through the exhaust/supply fans.
Based on the technical specifications, our teams have designed and produced large multi-module MS-D bypass smoke dampers (class 3, certified 400°/2h) particularly adapted to smoke control applications.
